CriminologyThe violent crime rate in the united states has reduced over the years. The federal bureau of investigation has kept track of the reported violent crimes. There were high crime rates in the 1990s, ranging to almost seven hundred and fifty compared to close to three hundred and sixty in 2014 in a population of about a hundred thousand people. The records amount to a rough estimate of six and a half million crimes in a year. For the last two years,2020, over nine thousand serious assaults have been America’s most common types of crimes.The behavioral theory claims that learning experiences develop the human trait. People change their behavior according to the conduct of others. Behaviorists argue that people are not born with an innate capability to commit a crime, but its learned through the trait development procedure experiences and mass media. According to cognitive theory, the offense could quickly erupt due to processing information. The way humans process information is different. People who make judgments negatively in solving problems may commit crimes compared to those who make a negative conclusion as per information perception.
Common law is ungazetted law drawing its legalizations on terms applied by a court of law. They are vital in decision-making, where judgment does not continue the present written laws. Standard rules are evident in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand. Ordinary laws have promoted an easy way of solving cases in courtrooms. Hence peace and harmony in family matters due to the marriage law. Various criminal victims are undergoing mental illness. This perception alters their behavior in most cases.Insanity defense to crime has various advantages. It does not allow the death penalty, the charges are super lenient, and the accused is saved his life as the death sentence is not executed. The defense calls for immediate acceptance of guilt as the accused accepts that a crime did happen. The security has some disadvantages in increasing the costs of trials. The accused could not be in a position to prove insanity (Adjorlolo et al.,2019). This kind of defense leads to rejection and is not a guarantee to be relieved of the crime. The guilty have to face the same rules despite their mental condition as per my rule.Policy development in America has gone through various milestones. The normal development of a policy is expressed by the expansion of the capability of people and power and the government. There are various aspects of policy development in America. The Magna Carta proposed that nobody is above the law, even king john the first, the founder of the Magna Carta. The “U.S constitutional ideals” suggested that the people must be involved in making policies and laws.Prominent leaders such as Woodrow Wilson connected western Europe and America to create a “league of nations.” Franklin Roosevelt fought for the economy languishing with poor employment rates to bring America to a new deal. Earl Butz enacted agricultural policies that led to food stability in America. The farm inputs were subsidized, making them cheap to the farmers. The current guidelines in America include economic policy, domestic policy, and foreign policies. They ensure Americans have a minimum wage to survive, access medical care, and control nuclear weapons in other countries.Policymaking in America calls for partnership. The partnership would build a strong foundation for promoting social-economic opportunities and chances, such as maximum citizen security, efficiency in democratic setups, and clean energy for all our global goals in various manifestos. This manifesto should be compelling with the inclusion of other countries in other regions, like India, Brazil, Russia, China, and Africa. Reasonably, more issues affect the globe than single America; global warming.
Community policing is a management tool that works to eliminate crime in society and dig deep from where it emanates. Traditional community policies created separated the police and the community by using extra manual force. Today dynamic laws have been enacted that build trust and different understanding(Collins, 2018). Community policies to work, they have to be embraced by the enforcers and the community as a whole.Criminal law works on behavior that offenses the society, the public more so the state, despite the accused being an individual. Civil law corrects traits that jeopardize individuals or other peoplefor instance, negligence. O.J Simpson in the year 1995, was imprisoned. He was charged with killing his wife and her friend. After two years, it was discovered he killed both of them in a public servant’s suit in wrongful death.There exist three pathways to crime. The authority conflict pathway entails constant rebellious behavior to authority, breaking of simple rules, and avoiding the administration. The covert pathway is displayed by kids who lye, fire set, and deface buildings with graffiti. They later commit serious crimes such as vandalism and theft (Loeber, 2019). The overt pathway is characterized by attacking others without weapons, threatening, and pick pocketing.Gender problems in criminology are based on the aspect that women are involved in lesser crimes than the men. The family is the source of knowledge of personal gender. The way kids are brought up should be lenient to allow lesser crimes. Female criminals are leniently tried in a court of law due to the fact that, the judge has been biased from childhood.References
